Incentivising data publication: the REWARD project and the Journal of Open Archaeology Data

Abstract


This paper reports on the findings of the JISC-funded project Researchers using Established Workflows to Archive Research Data (REWARD), and on the recently launched Journal of Open Archaeology Data (JOAD). By combining data management plans and the incentive of publication in JOAD, REWARD has sought to show that this can lead to an increase in data archiving at UCL, for which the UCL Discovery EPrints repository has been specially modified
